An alien for Tremulous. It's about the size of a goon, has a bifurcated lower jaw and a grappling feeding tentacle. Currently the model needs more work (tentacle, greater geometric density around the joints, etc.). The UV mapping, texturing and animation haven't been started.

Reading for the bored:
The inspiration for this model was one of those odd dreams that you remember vividly, probably from waking shortly afterwards (as one does when sleeping atop a rackload of ancient Compaq ProLiant 1850Rs each with four 15krpm drives). The dream was set in Arachnid2. I had just psawed the overmind and naded the eggs. I started the long sprint back to base, but halfway through the long corridor a large alien dropped down from the pipes above. I had not seen this species before; it was larger than a dragoon and moved quickly towards me, it's lower jaw looked strange. Before I could raise my painsaw to it's head it's lower jaw split in two and each half opened into barbed pincer arms tipped with a sharp claw. It grabbed me with these arms and then a powerful tentacle with sharp barbs at the end shot out from it's throat and burst through my chest and started crushing my entrails into a pulp that it sucked back through the tentacle to feed. It dropped what was left of my body when it had finished. I could see pieces of my intestines hanging from it's mouth as it walked away. Even though I was very dead all I could think was "omg l33t!". I downloaded Wings3D and began modeling it when I awoke. I guess it's a cross between a marauder, a xenomorph and a graboid.
My therapist tells me that I play Tremulous too much.
