Description:
A rectifier module suitable for continuous output currents of up to 10A, based on four TO-220 packaged diodes that are configured as a bridge rectifier. This module includes AC input fuses and diode snubbers. A typical application is a linear DC supply using a step-down transformer and screw-terminal electrolytic capacitors. Three parallel 1/4" blade connectors are provided for the connection of the centre tap of the transformer.

Cooling:
The heatsink is formed from 3mm thick aluminium angle section. This is suitable for schottky barrier rectifiers and other diodes with a low forward voltage drop. Other rectifiers may require a larger heatsink or forced convection cooling. Most of the heat is from conduction losses as diode recovery losses are negligable at 50/60Hz applications. Note that isolation pads and washers are required for diodes that have non-isolated packages.
